My baby went to kindergarten today. I can't believe it. We were all so excited, and it didn't even occur to me that I might cry, but I did. Not a surprise, really, but it's so. . .I don't even know what. She had a great day. She went on a gingerbread man hunt around the school, she got to take the "no one missing" paper to the office, and she knew two other kids. I am so excited for her, but I feel like I'm losing control. What is she doing all day? What is she learning? Is everyone being nice to her? Is she being nice to them? I guess we all do it, huh?First day of kindergarten
Going into class (Annie is in front of the closed door with the blue/hot pink backpack and the light blue leggings).
And, to make everything perfect, Annie lost her 2nd tooth on Friday, so she got to go to kindergarten with a nice, cool hole in her mouth.

Sophie's Solids
Sophie is getting better at keeping her solids in her mouth, but you would never to know to look at her. She is a messy little eater. Thank goodness she will eat solids at Becky's since she WILL NOT drink from a bottle--that isn't CAN NOT but WILL NOT. The doctor says the will not drink and the frequent nightly visits are "personality" issues, most likely. Ahhhh!! What are we in for? We love her!

Blog Book
I have talked with a bunch of people about getting our blog printed, but no one really had a good suggestion. Well, my sister's friend got hers printed, so J got the info for me. The site is www.blurb.com, and it is really slick. I am working on last year's book, and it is going to be so great to have a year-by-year family history printed from my blog. I would suggest watching the main tutorial and the blog book tutorial at the site before you get started. Yeah! for blurb.com. My friend also has printed a bunch of books through this site (not necessarily from blog) and says they are great when they come in the mail.

The Final Swimming Trip
The swimming outing with Pops was a little disappointing because the water slide was out of order, but we still had a good time. It was Sophie's 2nd time swimming, but her first in a "real" swimsuit. Her first time was in a swim diaper, plastic pants, and a shirt.

The Last Days of Summer
We asked the kids what they still wanted to do before summer was over, and you can see what the answer was: the zoo, swimming with the WHOLE family (that means they want Papa to come), golfing, and a few other things. We even had a some cool days in the last few weeks to actually enjoy the zoo and the farm! Tomorrow is the big back-to-work/school day, so I guess it's over. It has been a fun summer, however. I hope the kids enjoyed being home."This is the sunflower tall and bright that grows in our garden day and night." (quote from one of T's favorite books--and the flower is really in our garden)
Sophie at the farm. I think she is just about too long for the infant seat, so you'll be seeing her in a new arrangement pretty soon.
The farm is full of cute little babies right now. Thys, Anna, and Mom especially liked the baby of the minature horse.
The all time favorite at the farm yesterday was the turtle in the duck pond. The kids watched it for a good 15 minutes!
We took Papa to the zoo for the first time. He had a good time with all the thousands of other dads who got to go on the coolest Saturday this summer.
Train ride at the zoo
Minature golfing--Thys has a wicked swing, and Anna has Grandpa J.'s golfing gene!

Mr. T
Mr. T. is quite a character. We sure love him, and he loves his rags and his plug (pacifier). However, he has had chapped lips all summer, and now they are really sore and bleeding, so we have said good-bye to the plug except to go to sleep. He has been sooooo good about it. I love him for it. He is tougher than we are for sure. He also has another new found favorite--his doll. I know that may mortify some of you masculine fans out there, but he is soooo cute with it. He feeds it, puts it to bed, etc. I love it. He is a good little dad!

" I Can't Beleive It"
Guess what!?!?!? Not very hard to answer if you look at the picture, is it? Anna says, "I can't beleive it!" She is beyond excited, and she already has her tooth in her little wooden "melk tandjes" container from Mimi. We'll see if the tooth fairy comes!?!?
